Alan Buckley has been working with the Herlihy Supermarket Group since 2013 providing various different training programmes.In 2013 Alan was involved in delivering Service Excellence Training to our 230 employees across 6 sites. This training was given over 1 month in 35 separate sessions. The training had a big impact on staff and ultimately our customers.
We have found Alan to be an excellent trainer who really gets to know both the needs of our business and also the staff he is training. In 2014 Alan came on board again with us, this time to develop a Management Development Programme on two levels, firstly for our Store Managers and separately for our Assistant and Trainee Managers. These programmes have started in February and will run until October 2014.

Alan was one of our trainers delivering training to long-term job seekers, which is a Momentum Skills project to get 6,500 job seekers back to employment through training and education.The trainers delivering these programmes needed to be very patient and have an understanding of the needs of the employers and job seekers, Alan demonstrated a clear understanding of both.
Alan delivered three programmes on behalf of the College of Progressive Education – Consultative Selling FETAC Level 6, Sales Presentations FETAC Level 6 and Sales Negotiation FETAC Level 6. The feedback from the learners was very positive and as far as the College is concerned his attention to detail is excellent and he delivered to our specification and met all of the learning outcomes required by FETAC and the Employers.
We found him excellent to work with and would have no hesitation in recommending him for similar projects and we will be using his service for future programmes.

My name is James and I was a student under Alan Buckley for three modules in the Momentum Course. They were Consultative Selling, Sales Presentations and Sales Negotiations.I found the three modules very good and informative. The teaching style was very eye opening to the process of selling, to which i had no knowledge beforehand. I will take away valuable knowledge and techniques not only for sales positions but for interviews too.
It was great that our opinions where listened to and taken on board which got me involved a lot more than I thought I was capable of. The learning outcomes were made clear every day and summarised on completion so the information really hit home.
To conclude I would say that before these modules the last thing I thought I wanted to do was sales, but now after the lessons with Alan I have gained great confidence and interest in the field, and I am now applying for a sales positions in various telesales companies.

I wish to advise you that I felt that Alan was a professional instructor and delivered the course in a very professional manner. I learned quite a lot from this course over my time with him as an existing sales person for which I hope to take along to a new job and a new employer in the future. Before I did this course I had very little confidence. But this tele sales course gave me the confidence I needed for when I apply for jobs with regards to interviews. I feel from this course that after being unemployed for a few years that I’ll be back working in next few months or less with a new job. I learnt so much from this course that I’d recommend it to anyone as there’s so much I took away from it. And with the class being small it made it easier to learn. Advertise this course a lot more than it is now as I feel you’d get a lot more people interested in it and other similar courses which you teach!

I recently finished a telesales course with CCMA Ireland Skillnet, to get a Certificate in Consultative Selling QQI Level 6 award.
Before I started this course I did not have too much knowledge about sales but this course has left me feeling confident and more knowledgeable as a result. The mixture of theory classroom learning and the practical side of shadowing agents and observing them first hand, I found a great way of learning.
With the classroom based theory work I was most pleased with. Mr Alan Buckley’s teaching style and his people skills are in my opinion of high standard.
His constant interaction with students along with his easy going, patient personality made it a great way to learn. I always felt that when I came out of his classes that I learnt something of value. As a student I always felt that I could always express my opinion on the topic on hand and he would always take it on board whether it was right or wrong. It was really a classroom of learning.
Mr Buckley always had time for people who had questions whether it was during or after class, especially when it came to students questions related to assignments. I really felt that he wanted you to do well as a person throughout the course and as a student I really think that he brought out the best in me and I think that he brought out my full potential in achieving what I wanted to achieve from this course. You can really tell that Mr Buckley really likes what he does.
Overall I think that Mr. Buckley is fine teacher who is dedicated to his line of work, his students and the job in hand. He was always easy to communicate with either in person or by email and was always quick with responses to people’s problems.
Overall I was very pleased with this course and I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in sales.
